The Tamil Nadu police asked why the RSS was insisting on conducting the route march on Gandhi Jayanti when it "hailed" Nathuram Godse.
On Wednesday, the state police had denied permission to RSS for such March citing law and order issues in the wake of the centre's ban on PFI and other organisations.
The plea claims that the Chennai police was "prejudiced against the RSS," and urged the High Court to direct them to grant permission for the event.
