Promoter slapped with $360,000 in fines for hosting big party
A man who was charged with breaches of the Disaster Risk Management and Noise Abatement acts was fined a total of $360,000 when he pleaded guilty to the charges during his appearance in the Trelawny Parish Court in Ulster Spring last week. The accused, 38-year-old taxi operator, Donovan Mendez, was fined $60,000 for failure to obtain permission from the police superintendent; $200,000 for hosting an event with more than 15 persons; and $100,000 for failure to wear a mask.
