The Curry Mile is the nickname for part of Wilmslow Road that runs through Rusholme in south Manchester. It earned the title because of the large number of curry houses, takeaways and kebab shops that stand side-by-side on a mile-long stretch of road. It was once said to have the largest concentration of South Asian restaurants outside the Indian subcontinent. The curry houses now share the area with a large number of shisha bars.

Home to Manchester's famed Curry Mile, Rusholme still boasts many restaurants - but shisha bars have also taken over the strip in recent years. An area of diverse housing, it includes large, Victorian villas plus tower blocks, social housing and student accommodation. Bordered by Wilmslow Road and Upper Brook Street, the area also includes the huge Platt Fields Park and The Gallery of Costume museum.
