The Creator’s Trophy A win on Saturday would secure the Creator’s Trophy for Ohio State and bring it home to Columbus. The trophy was established in 2012 between Ohio State, Penn State and Michigan – the three Big Ten schools that sponsored lacrosse at the time. The coaches from Ohio State, Michigan and Penn State came together and fundraised for the Creator’s trophy prior to the formation of the Big Ten conference for lacrosse. The trophy’s design includes three pillars to represent the three institutions: Ohio State, Penn State and Michigan The team with the best head to head reco...

The behemoth of the Big Ten looms Sunday night, as Ohio State gears up to brawl with the Terrapins of College Park, Maryland. Maryland welcomes the Buckeyes after breezing through the first 8 games of the season, their worst game a 4-goal victory over #5 (at the time) Rutgers. Maryland has been challenged, as evidenced by their early 5-0 hole last week, however a 16-0 run over TTUN stamped their mark all over that game, and the conference. The Buckeyes are going to be in trouble from the opening whistle Sunday night. Maryland starts potentially the best unit in the country at attack. Jared B...

Monday April 12th, 2021 8:00am (Photo by Rachel Pincus/Notre Dame Athletics) As the NCAA winter sports seasons wrap up, lacrosse has the opportunity to step into the limelight. What’s happened is less important than what’s next. Monmouth and Bryant are the current favorites to win their league titles, but the margin of success and failure are extremely tight in 2021. LIU (4-1 NEC) and Saint Joseph’s (5-0 NEC) still have to play the Bulldogs (3-1) in the NEC. Monmouth is scheduled to play Marist on Tuesday, but that game remains in doubt due to Marist’s ongoing pause. Jacksonville is 4...

Mon Apr 12 2021 | Patrick Stevens | College PHOTO BY JOHN STROHSACKER Bubba Fairman has scored 10 goals this season — seven in his last three games. Maryland hadn’t found itself down more than three goals all season. So what was the Terrapins’ response to Michigan scoring the first five goals on Saturday? Try depositing 16 in a row against the Wolverines. The Terrapins have unleashed these sorts of barrages before. The second half against Johns Hopkins. The fourth quarter at home against Rutgers. Parts of the second and third quarters against Penn State in College Park. The third and fo...

After a pretty hefty bludgeoning in round 1, Ohio State managed to hold on for another win im the return leg. The Buckeyes managed to score an identical numberof goals, but freshmen Brendan Grimes and Johnathan Peshko scored 4 goals on 5 shots between them to keep this game a much tighter affair. Grimes especially went off out of nowhere, having not started last week and then suddenly poured in a perfect hat trick, 3 goals in 3 shots. That's not what you want to see as a Buckeye fan, but the big lefty was the #5 recruit in the country for a reason. Buckeyes just couldn't close the deal.
