An SUV crushed a New York City firefighter's leg during a rescue effort following a car crash in Midtown Manhattan on Sunday.

FDNY firefighter Ryan Warnock, who one week ago was commended for saving tourists after their boat capsized, was rescued himself after an SUV rolled onto his leg.

Firefighters responded to the crash at W. 42 St. and Eleventh Ave. about 3:20 p.m. Sunday where a BMW SUV was atop a Volvo sedan.

A New York City firefighter broke his femur after an SUV fell on his leg while he was attempting to stabilize the car, which became suspended on top of another vehicle follow a crash.
