KOTA KINABALU: The Sabah government has raised its annual contribution to the Kinabalu Press Awards from RM60,000 to RM100,000 because it recognises the important role of mainstream media, says Datuk Seri Hajiji Noor.

KOTA KINABALU: Journalists in Sabah began receiving their first and second dose of their Covid-19 vaccine in phases starting last month. The names of media personnel were submitted and arranged by the state government to the state Health Department for consideration earlier on. Some in Sandakan, Tawau and Labuan, among others, have received their jabs while on Thursday (May 6), over 90 journalists in and around Kota Kinabalu received the first dose of the Sinovac vaccine. Sabah Journalist Association chairman Datuk Muguntan Vanar, in thanking the state and Federal government for allowing media practitioners to get vaccinated early, said over 300 media personnel are scheduled to receive their jabs.
