Alberta speeds up security grants for sites facing hateful violence and vandalism

Not-for-profit organizations can now apply for a one-time emergency grant of up to $12,000, rather than waiting for the Alberta Security Infrastructure Program to officially launch in the fall, the province announced Tuesday. Funds are being made available now after “recent multiple acts of vandalism at places of worship and the suspected arson that burned a church to the ground,” said a news release.
