The Cambodian Mine Action and Victim Assistance Authority (CMAA) announced that Svay Rieng province will be declared mine-free in June 2023, when more than 12sq km has been demined.

Ly Thuch, senior minister and first vice-president of the Cambodian Mine Action and Victim Assistance Authority (CMAA) said the vision of a landmine-free Cambodia by 2025 could be achieved if the general public joined the government to make it possible.

A total of 188 trainees, drawn from the ranks of officers, non-commissioned officers and enlisted soldiers of the Engineering Command at Tram Khnar Army Base in Takeo province, participated in a short demining course to meet the demands of increased demining activities.
