The city-sanctioned Safe Ground camp would be the first in Sacramento to open on private property. It would close after three months.
Sacramento is working on developing another so-called Safe Ground camping area, designed specifically for seniors experiencing homelessness.
The sanctioned tent encampment for roughly 60 homeless seniors will have bathrooms, showers, security, food, water and potentially dental services. The goal is to find permanent housing for the residents before 90 days.
