ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Imran Khan on Saturday commended the Federal Board of Revenue’s (FBR) efforts on achieving growth of 57 percent in April 2021 with
collections recorded at Rs382 billion, compared to Rs240 billion in April last year.
In a tweet, prime minister said: “I commend FBR efforts on achieving growth of 57 percent in April 2021 with collections recorded at Rs384 billion compared to Rs240 billion in April 2020. During July-April, collections reached Rs3,780 billion 14 percent higher than the same period last year. This shows our policies have led to broad-based economic revival.” ....

ISLAMABAD: As part of broadening of tax base, the Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) has received 2.9 million income tax returns for tax year 2020 as against 2.6m returns in the previous year, showing an increase of 12 per cent.
The tax deposited with income tax returns from salaried, non-salaried individuals, the association of persons and companies for the tax year 2020 was Rs50.6 billion compared to Rs33.1bn last year, an increase of 53 per cent.
The government has not extended last date from December 8, 2020. Until this period, FBR received only 1.8m returns. It means FBR received 1.1m returns from taxpayers between December 8, 2020 and April 30, 2021. ....

FBR achieves Rs3,394b revenue target during July-March

ISLAMABAD: The Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) has achieved provisional revenue collection of Rs3,394 billion during first nine months (July-March) period of the current fiscal year against Rs 3076 billion in the same period of the last financial year, registering a growth of double-digit first time in the current fiscal.
According to FBR’s announcement made here on Wednesday stating that the Board has released the provisional revenue collection figures for the first nine months of the current fiscal year. According to the provisional information, FBR has collected net revenue of Rs3394 billion during the July-March period, which has exceeded the target of Rs3287 billion by more than Rs100 billion. This represents a growth of about 10 percent over the collection of Rs3076 billion during the same period last year. ....
