A heavy rain watch is in place for Nelson, west of Motueka from Monday morning until the early hours of Tuesday morning, with periods of heavy rain and possible thunderstorms and rainfall amounts possibly approaching warning criteria. “That is going to lead into a pretty wet day Tuesday, cloudy throughout the day with intermittent rainfall and it looks like the more significant accumulations of rain will be up in the mountains.” Braden Fastier/Stuff
