Faith-based anti-trafficking day set
Cambodia has established August 20 as National Inter-Faith Day Against Human Trafficking, to be observed from 2023 onwards. Prime Minister Hun Sen made the announcement regarding the date and also told all government authorities and other stakeholders to join hands in preventing Cambodia from becoming a haven for organised crime groups engaged in human trafficking.

Escape from forced labour
PETALING JAYA: Hundreds of workers, including Malaysians, all believed to be victims of human trafficking, illegal confinement and torture, have been rescued by Cambodian authorities from suspected cybercrime compounds across the South-East Asian country in a series of raids.In one such raid at the coastal town of Sihanoukville some 200km from Phnom Penh, a total of 403 people were rescued.
