On Thursday Feb. 23, the Lowe Art Museum hosted an After Hours event celebrating the life and work of famed Civil Rights era artist, Charles White. Generously loaned to the museum by collector Arthur Primas — whose daughter Kathryn Primas is a UM alumna — White’s works highlight the importance of Black dignity and humanity during the Civil Rights era.
“The guys were swinging the bat,” Miami head coach Gino DiMare said. “The ball is jumping off their bats right now. We feel like we can hit for power in our lineup. It’s kind of our MO.”
Miami women’s basketball rebounded from a tough loss last Sunday to Duke with a great effort in Coral Gables, Florida. A double-double from forward Destiny Harden helped UM escape a late comeback attempt by the Clemson Tigers to secure a 59-54 victory Thursday night at the Watsco Center.
Love is in the air and in UM’s classrooms this valentine season. Continuing a 20 year tradition, the music fraternity Phi Mu Alpha Sinfonia has been singing their way through campus this February, serenading love songs to unsuspecting students.
