The Enugu State Government has warned against drilling boreholes without the authorisation of the State Ministry of Environment and Climate Change as well as other relevant government agencies. The warning came as personnel of the state fire service on Sunday, successfully put out a fire that started during a borehole drilling activity at the Federal Housing Estate in Ugwogo Nike, in the Enugu East Local Government Area of the state.
“We are not sleeping at all. Enugu must be clean. We are going to do everything to ensure that the people embrace the government mantra.
