Published June 28, 2021, 12:11 PM The mayor of Caraga, Davao Oriental was found guilty of simple neglect of duty by the Office of the Ombudsman based on the the case filed by the Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) for failure to comply with the President’s order to clear roads in her town from illegal structures and constructions. DILG Secretary Eduardo M. Año said the decision of the Ombudsman against Caraga Mayor Alicia B. Mori is a proof that there is no room for negligent local officials to remain in public service especially at this time of the pandemic.
