Mar 9, 2021 A Highland County man was sentenced Monday to 21 to 26 years in prison for attempted murder in April of last year, reports the Chillicothe Gazette. After a three-day trial, 40-year-old Samuel D. Chapman had been found guilty February 25th of attempted murder, kidnapping, grand theft, and tampering with evidence. Chapman stabbed 76-year-old Barbara Martin several times in the neck and abdomen April 1st, 2020, after she gave him a ride from Chillicothe to Stone Road at State Route 104.
