April 08, 2021 A Mount Airy woman was among four individuals recently arrested and charged with drug trafficking-related expenses in two separate cases, according to Surry County Sheriff Steve C. Hiatt. Summer Raine Johnson, 25, of 158 Smith Landing Road, Mount Airy, Maurice T. Update - Jan. 18: Public safety officials confirmed this morning that the dump truck driver in Friday's Gretna Road crash has been released from the hospital and is in stable condition. The helicopter that landed at the Sandy Level baseball field was not utilized. The driver was transported to the hospital by ground, where he was treated and later released.
