Last October, Erie County Council approved a 25-year lease agreement, which allows Gannon to develop a 3,000 square-foot water research and education center inside of the Blasco Library.
Dr. Sarah Ewing, Provost and Vice President for Student Experience, said the university is working with an architect to design and plan the center.
Erie County Council voted 4-3 to rescind the lease agreement between the County and Gannon University that would see part of Project NepTWNE operate in the Blasco Library.
It comes in the midst of a severe pilot shortages, worsened by COVID-era layoffs and buyouts. Now, airlines can't find enough pilots, and Gannon wants to students to be ready to meet the demand.
