A scratch-off Grounded Activity Card (Provided image â Peakquest) SARANAC LAKE The Saranac Lake Area Chamber of Commerce is co-hosting a new community event this Friday to Sunday called Grounded: Get Down to Earth in Saranac Lake, with organizing partners Woods and Waters and Peakquest. The event is meant to highlight the activities the Saranac Lake area has to offer during what is typically seen as an undesirable time (“mud season”). The weekend will consist of a fishing challenge hosted by Woods and Waters and a downtown scavenger hunt hosted by Peakquest, alongside other suggested activities that highlight things to do during spring. ....
Apr 20, 2021 SARANAC LAKE The Saranac Lake Area Chamber of Commerce is coordinating two Spring Clean-Up Weekends for May 7 to 9 and May 14 to 16. Cleaning efforts will focus on trash pick-up on municipal property and public parks surrounding the village of Saranac Lake. Between the hours of 9 a.m. and 1 p.m. on the designated cleanup days, interested volunteers can visit the Saranac Lake Welcome Center at the Harrietstown Town Hall, 39 Main St., to pick up trash bags, rubber gloves, location assignments and cleanup directions. All filled trash bags should get deposited next to a village municipal garbage can if not otherwise directed by chamber staff to deposit at specific locations. The village of Saranac Lake is partnering with the chamber to provide supplies and trash pick up. ....
Mar 3, 2021 SARANAC LAKE the Saranac Lake Area Chamber of Commerce has added Sadie Posdzich to its staff as membership and engagement coordinator. In that role she will help communicate all that is happening at the chamber to members and the community, and assist at the Saranac Lake Welcome Center. Posdzich was born and raised in Saranac Lake, graduated from Saranac Lake High School, and earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in graphic design from the College of Saint Rose in Albany. She then moved back to the Adirondacks, where she currently serves on the Saranac Lake Arts and Cultural Advisory Board and the Winter Carnival Committee, choreographing the dance for the Carnival pages each year. Most recently she has worked at the Lake Placid Sinfonietta as marketing director. ....
