Riyadh's ICAIRE granted UNESCO Category 2 status

The director of the National Information Center at the Saudi Data and AI Authority (SDAIA), Dr. Esam bin Abdullah Al-Wagait, confirmed that the Kingdom has launched initiatives in the field of smart cities inspired by innovation. He made a speech on Wednesday during the Smart City Expo World Congress held in Barcelona, where he said that generative artificial intelligence (AI) integrated into city services and urban solutions will become the cornerstone of future smart-city initiatives.

Minister of Culture and Chairman of the National Commission for Education, Culture and Science Prince Badr bin Abdullah bin Farhan is leading Saudi Arabia's delegation to the 42nd session of the General Conference of UNESCO, held in Paris between November 7 and 22. The delegation includes representatives of the ministries of culture and education, the Saudi Data and Artificial Intelligence Authority, and other national authorities.

The Saudi Data and Artificial Intelligence Authority (SDAIA), as a global partner, will take part in the two-day City Expo World Congress, scheduled to be held in Barcelona on November 7. During the event, the SDAIA will showcase the Saudi experience in constructing smart cities and highlight the authority's significant role in this domain. It will set up a Saudi pavilion that will serve as an extensive exhibition, showcasing the authority's digital products related to data and artificial intelligence.
