We must get away from this notion that landing on water is going to be softer. it s not. a nose-dive is just like going into the so it s going to cause debris to scatter everyone. extreme fragmentation. so if it breaks apart midair, that s going to give you the widest debris? yes. depending on the speed, the altitude, the higher the aircraft is, the faster the aircraft is, if it s going to start fragmenting, you re going to get a greater spread area over the ocean. so landing on top of the water, we were talking about the sully sullenberger type of landing, chances are, any ocean is so volatile, we re not going to have this kind of landing. no. the miracle on the hudson, it s completely in tact and when it sinks, it s going to be in tact. so what is it bound to look ....

Second. so that s the worst case scenario that if this what we think could be debris gets into that current, that s going to be your worst case scenario because it s going to be very, very hard to find. where it is right now though the currents are very weak. so if conditions stay like they are now, and they can get to it quickly, ashleigh, looks like that s going to be our best case scenari scenario. that s a lot faster than i thought, jennifer. david, weigh-in, please, i think it was you i heard earlier this morning call the potential impact a scatter point. mean fg that plane hit the water and did exactly that, scatter, does that change the equation for finding it? meaning, if it went in more or less in tact at least or if it went in in hundreds or god forbid millions of pieces, does that change the idea of being able to find it, make it easier, make it harder? absolutely makes it harder if it did. what i m hoping and by looking at the size of this and if this is the part of the ....

That s very, very difficult without much more information as to where the plane might be, narrowing the search down. and then to add to that list, let s say if there is still debris or something on the surface and wouldn t it have floated in the days since the plane vanished from radar? certainly, but it depends on the wind as well. up above the water, it has surface area or windage above the water. this could be scattered over hundreds of miles where it was just one football field piece of debris. it could be scatter and scattered. i want to come back to you, but back to where the australia janes of searching, would submercibles be of any use at this stage of the game? ....
