School Committee Vice Chair Mike Flaherty was recognized at his final meeting on April 29. Flaherty announced in January that he would not seek re-election at the end of his three-year term. 
Committee Chair Joyce Bacchiocchi took time in the meeting to thank Flaherty, noting that it was his last meeting ahead of the Town Election on May 4. 
“We just want to say thank you for the hours of work that you’ve put in,” Bacchiocchi said. “You’ll be missed on the committee.”
In the middle of the virtual meeting, someone knocked on Flaherty’s door to deliver a surprise: a plaque commemorating his years of service on the School Committee.  ....
