4pm Skies clearing for the evening
Showers are expected to start clearing, and strong southerlies easing and then dying out, bringing a fine evening.
2.30pm Bus strikes on hold
Wellington bus strikes are on pause as NZ Bus tries to hash out a last-minute deal with Greater Wellington Regional Council and Waka Kotahi NZ Transport Agency.

Hutt City Mayor Campbell Barry has challenged National MP Chris Bishop to a boxing match for charity via Twitter on Tuesday morning.
The pair recently faced off for the best ‘manu’ off Days bay wharf at the celebration of its reopening after two years of refurbishment.
That day, Bishop graciously accepted defeat, today he is yet to confirm whether he will face the emboldened Barry in the boxing ring. ....
