This is a really serious problem here in philadelphia and regionwide. the schuylkill river overflowed its banks earlier this morning. crested about 17 feet, a number not seen since 1869. now it s down to about 11 feet, according to the national weather service, and will not be below flood stage until sometime after midnight. that s why the flood emergency here remains in place in philadelphia until 7:00 tomorrow morning, and we re only just now getting a glimpse of how bad the damage will be here. i talked to you earlier today, kate, over at the banks of the schuylkill. that area has filled with trash from upstream, flowing downstream in philadelphia. it s a really big issue, and we know there have been many, many water rescues, 500 calls alone just last night according to governor tom wolf in montgomery county to the north, and we know several people have died in the state of pennsylvania as well. i ll tell you, where you are ....

Mullica hill at least an ef-3, with winds more than 135 miles per hour, ripping apart at least two dozen homes and damaging 100 more. this ef-2 twister just northwest of philadelphia causing a tree to collapse on a homing killing a woman. and in the philadelphia area, where over ten inches fell, those water rescues still under way. these new images showing hotel guests being evacuated amid massive flooding. teams going door-to-door in boats around bridgeport, just north of the city, after the schuylkill river overflowed its banks. you can t see the schuylkill river from here, but you can see how high the water rose, rushing over those train tracks, rea reaching record levels and still today, almost up to my knees. the national guard using high water vehicles to assist the philadelphia fire department inless coupes downtown. we have probably over 12 feet of water in here, so we have these large trucks here from the national guard. reporter: the cycle river rising around ten feet in ....

Very heavy rains. on average we had about 8 1/2 inches of rain in our county in a relatively short period of time. the national weather service has confirmed that we had an ef-2 tornado that touched down in upper dublin and other townships in our county. that tornado caused a significant amount of destruction. there were winds of up to 130 miles an hour. so you can imagine the havoc that that brought. and then the flooding started. as you heard, the schuylkill river is still in our county at major flood stage. i don t think we know yet the entirety of the damage from this storm. it s amazing what s happening with the schuylkill. all day we were watching, during my show early already today, we were watching the water rescues taking place, really, throughout your county. we mentioned 450 rescues. it s getting toward dark now. ....
