Former Bremerton assistant city attorney gets diversion for felony assault on trooper View Comments A former assistant city attorney for Bremerton who defended police officers in lawsuits accusing them of wrongdoing pleaded guilty last week to a count of drunken driving and will receive diversion for felony assault on a Washington State Patrol trooper. Casey C. Pence, 60, was arrested the afternoon of Nov.11, 2019, after witnesses say she caused a minor car crash at the four-way intersection of Lebo Boulevard and Wheaton Way. While being questioned by officers, records say Pence asked them to call Bremerton police Capt. Randy Plumb, saying “He knows me.” Upon learning that Pence was an attorney for the city, reports say officers at the scene called troopers to handle the case. ....

Witnesses told district investigators that sometimes the boy, Jaleel Williams, was kept in the fenced, covered area for hours, and sometimes all day. Because there were no table or chairs in the area, he ate his lunch on a concrete floor, in view of other students who played outside the enclosure. ....
