KATHMANDU, Jan 11: The government has decided to make the Department of Cooperatives (DoC) active to take prompt measures in regular inspection and reporting of the cooperatives at a time when the sector’s regulator is found incapacitated in its regular duty.
The ‘Cooperative Sector Reforms Recommendation Taskforce, 2023’ has submitted its report, suggesting short-term, mid-term and long-term measures to address the challenges that have surfaced in the country’s cooperative sector. The government had formed the taskforce on May 9.
