Black Weekend As Nigerian Troops Attack Imo Communities; At Least One Killed, Several Houses Burnt

No fewer than one person has been killed during an invasion of a community in Imo State, Southeast Nigeria by Nigerian Army personnel.    Several houses and business premises were also reportedly destroyed when the troops invaded Orsu-Ihiteukwa, Awo-Idemili, and Eziawa communities in the Orsu Local Government Area of the state, NOHR reports.    According to the report, residents accused the troops of operating in armoured vehicles, and helicopter gunships as they opened fire on residents Friday morning.

Nigerian Government Arresting, Detaining Igbo People With Biafra Phone Messages, Insignia At Lagos, Abuja Airports, IPOB Alleges

The Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) has raised the alarm that Nigerian security agencies are profiling and abducting Igbo people leaving or returning to Nigeria. The separatist group alleged that such arrests have been going on at the international airports in Lagos and Abuja. The group said that Igbo people are being profiled for supporting IPOB's call for a referendum to determine agitation for Biafra which was occasioned by “neglect, discrimination and unfair treatment of Igbos in Nigeria”.

The group gave the warning while debunking the allegation by the police commissioner that IPOB’s security network - the Eastern Security Network (ESN) has a camp in the Enugu Ezike area of Enugu State.
