STOW — The Healey-Driscoll Administration announced today that $5 million in grant funding is available to support the purchase of firefighter turnout gear, fire suppression equipment, and related items through the FY24 Firefighter Safety Equipment Grant program.

Several local police departments will receive state grants to implement or expand their body-worn camera programs.

The Berkshire District Attorney's Office has received a state grant of $99,933 through the state's Safer Communities Initiative to support violence prevention and response and community engagement efforts through the summer and fall months when violent crime is often at its peak.
