Facebook parent Meta released an artificial intelligence (AI) model that can pick out the different items within the photographs, Fox News reported.
The company's research division said in a blog post that its Segment Anything Model, or SAM, could identify objects in images and videos even in cases where it had not encountered those items in its training.
In the future, SAM could be used to help power applications in numerous domains that require finding and segmenting any object in any image.
