Three Policemen And Three Others Remanded Over Farmer s Death In Seikwa | Crime

  A Sunyani District Court has again remanded three Policemen and three other suspects concerning the death and secret burial of a-48-year-old farmer at Seikwa in the Tain District of the Bono Region. General Constable Ebenezer Akuffo, General Corporal Williams Akussung and Chief Inspector Eric Aforo, the Station Officer at the Seikwa Police Station were alleged to have maltreated the farmer, Abu Nepah, to death, and buried him secretly at a public cemetery at Seikwa. The incident happened between April 16 and 17, this year, of which the Police Administration has since interdicted these accused officers. They would re-appear before the Court on Tuesday, June 8, 2021.

The presiding judge, Justice Gabriel Mate-Teye, granted the bail application of the Manager of the Nkoranman Rural Bank, Mr Emmanuel Ofori, on health grounds but refused to grant the application for bail by counsels for the other five accused persons. Three of the accused persons, who are police officers at the Seikwa Police Station, are Chief Inspector Eric Aforo, General Corporal William Apussung and General Constable Ebenezer Akuffo, while the remaining two, who are security men at the Nkoranman Rural Bank, are Rubin Obeng and Aaron Abbey.

3 policemen, others in Seikwa killing remanded April 28, 2021 Three policemen allegedly involved in the beatings and killing of a suspect at the Seikwa Police Station in the Bono Region last week were yesterday remanded in police custody by the Sunyani Circuit Court B to prevent them from interfering with ongoing investigations into the matter. The court, presided by Jojo Amoah Hagan, also remanded three other suspects. All six, preliminarily charged with conspiracy to commit murder and murder, are to reappear in court on May 11, this year. They are Chief Inspector Eric Aforo, General Corporal William Akussung and General Constable Ebenezer Akuffo, all stationed at the Seikwa Police Command; Mr Ofori Emmanuel Kingsford, branch manager of Nafana Rural bank, Aaron Abbey and Reuben Obeng w their accomplices.

In addition, the Bono Regional Police Command is currently searching for a man identified as the Akyeamehene of the Seikwa Traditional Area, Opanin Asuman, who is suspected to have assisted the policemen to bury Bahala. The three policemen, all stationed at the Seikwa Police Station, are Chief Inspector Eric Aforo, General Corporal William Apussungi and General Constable Ebenezer Akuffo. According to the police, they had been interdicted following ongoing investigations into the unfortunate incident.
