Sri Lanka’s Ceylon tea prices declined at an auction on May 17 by 150-200 rupees per kilogram, following a significant increase in offerings and further strengthening of the rupee against the US dollar.
Sri Lanka’s High and Low Grown teas gained at the auction held on January 11 while some Mid Growns fell with lower volumes coming up for auction, brokers said.
Sri Lanka’s High and Mid Grown teas fell at the last auction of 2022 while Low Growns gained with 4.7 million kilograms sold, brokers said.
