The Supreme Court came down hard on Maharashtra Speaker Rahul Narwekar over delays in ruling on disqualification of lawmakers in the Sena vs Sena war that erupted after some MLAsquit the Thackeray-led Sena and aligned with the Eknath Shinde.
In an interview to Sanjay Raut, Uddhav Thackeray, attacking Devendra Fadnavis without naming him, said, “The reason given by BJP for splitting Sena was the ‘backstabbing’ by us. What did NCP do?...MVA govt did not collapse. It was eaten up by crabs.”
NCP chief Sharad Pawar has chosen not to pursue a legal battle after several MLAs defected to the BJP-Sena government in Maharashtra. After Supreme Court's verdict on Sena row case on Thursday, Uddhav Thackeray in a press conference held at Matoshree had said that if CM Shinde and deputy CM Devendra Fadnavis have any ethics, they should resign.
When asked about his views on Uddhav Thackeray's demand for Shinde to resign on moral grounds, Pawar said, " There is no need of demanding resignation from the current CM Eknath Shinde on moral grounds.
