Labuan first to achieve herd immunity against Covid | Daily Express Online

LABUAN: Labuan Tuesday completed fully vaccinating 80 per cent of its adult population and has become the first among federal territories and states in the country to achieve herd immunity against Covid-19.
The federal territory has immunised 54,800 of the 68,500 adults listed as eligible for the National Covid-19 Immunisation Programme (Pick).
The Labuan Covid-19 Immunisation Task Force (CITF) and the Labuan Disaster Management Committee described the programme as a difficult task but acknowledged that great team work had resulted in the success of the exercise.

Labuan CITF chairman Rithuan Ismail said a total of 54,800 (80 per cent) of the total population eligible for vaccination have received the two doses of the vaccine. ....

LABUAN: The first batch of 4,680 doses of Pfizer-BioNTech Covid-19 vaccine for Labuan arrived safely at the Labuan Ro-Ro Ferry Terminal
(pic), here, Friday.
After the Kimanis 1 ferry docked at the terminal jetty about 9.50am, DHL Express workers were seen unloading the vaccines from a van into a waiting truck under the watchful eyes of a Labuan police force unit.
The vaccines were transported by road from Kota Kinabalu for 155km and ferried to Labuan, with escort from patrol boats of marine police and the Malaysian Maritime Enforcement Agency (MMEA).

The vaccines were then transferred to the vaccine storage centre at the Labuan Hospital under the care of Labuan police. ....
