Conference of CSOs urges PM not to delay result of peace talks

Dimapur, Nov. 22 (EMN): The Conference of the Civil Society Organisations (CSOs) of Nagaland has asked Prime Minister Narendra Modi to expedite the result of the Naga peace talks, stating that 25 years of negotiations have taken an immense toll on the people of the state. Demand for President's Rule in Nagaland and resignation of MLAs illogical, says former CM

Our Reporter Dimapur, Oct. 31 (EMN): Reiterating that the United Democratic Alliance (UDA) government was formed to facilitate an early solution, UDA Chairman, T R Zeliang on Monday said Nagas must understand the role played by the elected members towards solving the Naga political issue as some people are apprehensive and doubt the intentions of the 60 elected members of the 13th house. Zeliang said they do not claim credit or expect any personal gain for their contribution towards the Naga political issue, stating that if at present, inking of Peace Accord is executed when Neiphiu Rio is the chief minister of the state, it is not Rio who alone will be benefitted but the entire Nagas. NSCN (IM) refutes SCAN's claim on Ntangki

Dimapur, Oct. 25 (EMN): NSCN (IM) on Tuesday accused the Senior Citizen’s Association of Nagaland (SCAN) of “unfairly” targeting the group with their “misleading” statement concerning Ntangki National Park. It placed on record that Ntangki National Park originally belongs to Old Bisumpui village while Hebron was allocated as ceasefire designated camp by the then chief minister SC Jamir. Hebron is outside the boundaries of Ntangki National Park and originally belongs to Old Jalukie village, it stated. The Jalukiekam village was established with the permission of Old Jalukie village and is a recognised village with specific boundaries. “The Hebron camp is very much within the Jalukiekam village jurisdiction and outside the boundary of Ntangki National Park and not as recklessly claimed by SCAN.
