new word today s deposition of donald trump appeared to have wrapped up after several hours of questioning. donald trump testified under oath of what involved claims of six people claiming assault by security guards outside trump tower in 2013. employees saying this about how things went. the former president sat and was examined for several hours on the incident that occurred right after the corner here on september 3rd, 2015. the president was exactly as you would expect him to be, and he answered questions the way that you would expect mr. trump to answer questions, and conducted himself in a manner that you would expect mr. trump to conduct himself. with me now is nbc news investigative correspondent tom winter. tom, you ve been following this. obviously we just heard from the
run for president. let s bring in our tom winter. tell us about this specific deposition and how it relates to all the things that former president trump is facing and may have to be deposed for in the future. september 3rd, 2015 may not be a date that sticks out off the top of our heads. that was the day that the president, the former president pledged his allegiance to the republican party. that was the time where he was flirting with the idea that if the republican party does not go along with me, i may become a third party candidate in this group of individuals. he had been protesting several times before. on this particular day they were there and this is the day where they said they were assaulted by members of trump s security staff. since what we had here is a

it is one of the latest of ten civil suits pending against the former president. nbc s tom winter joins me in new york. glenn is still around. walk us through this. this stems back to september 3rd, 2015. it was going to be a big press conference at the trump tower because that was the day trump was going to come forward and say i promise and pledge not to be a third-party candidate. i will move forward as a republican candidate. that s when this was still a debate. it goes all the way back to this. this group of individuals, six of them of mexican decent had protested several times outside of the trump tower against trump s policies with respect to immigration, the wall, et cetera. on this day they were there, but there were a lot more press because of this press conference, there were many more people outside of trump tower, and they say that trump s security staff, including keith shiller, trump s former body guard, roughed them up, in one instance purching them in the head, attem
objections, there was one guy saying yesterday. he would go along he said he wouldn t go along in making this promise. trump held out when all the rest of them said they d sign a pledge. that was a cause of great consternation, gnashing. prump trump was holding out. that left over the possibility he would run as a spoil irthird party candidate. that would be terrible for the republican party. then september 3rd, 2015, it all gets resolved the trump company summons everybody to trump do youer in new york to the atrium lobby of trump tower. they say it will be a big exciting announcement, donald trump would, in fact, sign that pledge. the best way for the republicans to win is if i when the nomination and go directly against whoever they happen to put up and for that reason i have signed the pledge.
