I have always enjoyed reading about history as I believe it provides the best way to understand the possibilities of a future, disclaimers aside like “past performance is no guarantee of future results”. That’s just it, there are no warrantees in using history as a periscope to the future, but there’s certainly a lot we can learn by understanding the past in order to have an idea of what the future might hold.
