Florida. so it took some people off guard. but i know that in lee county, they did the very best they could to track the storm issued evacuation order when i felt it was appropriate. and just south of us, the issue did on sunday, and i do believe that lee county issued on monday. mr. souza, do you know how many people are still on the island? no, we don t. and what i can tell you, simone, how many evacuate we have evacuated so far. the first few days, it was slow, and we had taken yesterday, about 250 people were evacuated, in the santa belle fire and rescue department estimates about 200 250 will be evacuated today. we know there are more people on the island, there are some that don t want to leave. but there is no water, there is no electricity, there is no sewer, there is no grocery opportunities. and the bridge that connects sanibel to the mainland has ....

Power, and, obviously, wifi. so the challenges, obviously, and thank god we as local people were able to deal with reasonable people, state, federal, it s all hands on deck. it s where the united states should be. we are coming together as one. we have been able to coordinate with the coast guard, with the military, appropriate helicopters over there. we created a barge service to bring stuff over there, obviously, bring people back, a ferry service. we have been coordinating on the barrier islands. my district is captiva, sanibel, southwest cape, pine island, boca grande. so many, many communities have disruptions. sanibel, okbviously, is one of the more destructive. fort myers beach is worse, if that s possible. could you give us an update on the death toll? because we understand there may be new numbers coming in out of ....

Have a shortage that will stop working right after that, rebuilding that. so you have that area. you have water, and we are trying to rebuild our water supply system. we have the engineers helping us assisting us in the sewer and the pipeline. all the things that are compromised when we need additional resources. we look at power, we have multiple power companies here right now. wishing lines and rebuilding infrastructure. we have meetings where we are rising, team able, to at&t, trying to do drones, drop, in the necessary things that we can communicate with your loved ones through wi-fi. so this is a coordinating efforts look at that person. i ve been in politics for many years. i ve never seen local, state, federal, work together as one, and put all party stuff aside. that tells you as well just how much the need is. it s amazing to think about that. but also devastating to think about why that coordination is necessary. but you know, not just with the county. you are actually the ....

We are a barrier island community so we shut those water off and we message staff. we break in the system out there on the barrier islands in the county and would not be affected. it s a fragile ecosystem along the coast and the barrier islands. no sewer and water lines are vulnerable and when we have a break and that means we don t have the pressure of the ability to have water for the main. our initial indications are that we have a break somewhere in the line or pressure is down. thankfully because we shut it down to the barrier islands, will be able to find it and patch it and restore for all of sarasota county. it s the reason why we do that. if we mentioned that while before i head of time and we messaged it to our community. best of luck to you and the people down there. we know you got your hands all of the myriad of problems. let us know if you have any messages you need to send and we will put you back on the air and ....

Give the first responders the green light to respond out into the community for their safety. and that s the most important thing. once that wind subsides less than 45 miles an hour, then we will be out there. what about infrastructure, utilities, you know, electricity and water? where do things stand? right now our city is about 95% without electricity. as far as water and sewer, we do have experienced some water main breaks, so we do have some areas of the city that is without water. and we have been getting phone calls from residents all afternoon and all evening. we know we have a lot of down power lines. we have some structural damage out there. we ve had some roofs collapse, one residence. so we are waiting to go out and do what s called our first push. ....
