Around 91 pilgrims have lost their lives during the course of the Char Dam Yatra 2022 since it began on May 3.
Congress has said that the lack of proper COVID-19 screening, oxygen parlours, first aid facilities, night shelters and fireplaces along the route are the reasons for the high number of deaths.
The health official informed that the health check-up of the pilgrims are being done at various places on the travel routes besides Rishikesh.
The Director-General of Health, Uttarakhand Dr Shailja Bhatt speaking to the media said that almost the deaths of all the pilgrims occurred on the travel path.
