NOIDA: Shamin Sheikh (24), a nursing assistant at the Child PGI hospital in Sector 30, came out with a smile on his face. After all, Sheikh was the first health worker from the district to get vaccinated at 11.15am on Saturday.
So, how was the procedure? It took Sheikh just 5 minutes and a shot in the left arm. In the past 7-8 months of the pandemic, I have seen the effect of Covid on so many people. Some even lost their lives. So, I had all the reasons in the world to get myself vaccinated. Fortunately, I had never tested positive in all these months because I had been taking precautions like using a mask and sanitisers always. But these are not permanent solutions. Vaccines are a must. I feel very excited to have become the first person from Noida to get the vaccine shot. I was just a 5-minute process and I was kept under observation for about half an hour, Sheikh told TOI.
