Sugarcane farmers in Prayagraj and adjoining districts will reap profits from the upcoming Shankargarh distillery. The distillery will use sugarcane and maize for manufacturing liquor, and will also purchase stubble from farmers for use in boilers. The production capacity of the distillery has been increased to 80 kilo litres per day. The distillery is being built by Mahakaushal Agri Crop India (P) Ltd and is expected to start production by September.
