Nominee? that is definitely true. in fact, i would say that is the most reliable job of the iowa caucuses, is to what we in farm country like to say is whittling the field. whittling is very much an important job for iowa. we have had candidates departing already and it s the debates, i think, more than anything else that is doing that job right now. of course tim ryan just dropping out this week. but you have a lot of candidates who, you know, look at iowa as their very best chance. somebody like an amy klobuchar, for example, who is a midwestern neighbor to iowa. and who, by the way, at 3% is actually up in the polls. she has a very good organization here. had a good debate. so she is in a position where she could move up. but if somebody like her doesn t do well in iowa, there s really not any point in her staying in the race. kathy, shaquille, thanks to ....
It shifts to mandatory public financing for campaigns. and even goes after the dnc in saying that they cannot take a corporate donations if he becomes the nominee. so it will have effect even before he hits the white house. what you re seeing is a candidate that s trying to show he s out there, resting and recovering from this situation but he s still trying to have an impact on this race. an aid and adviser to the campaign says he has nothing on the public schedule until the october 15th debate. we know that s happening in columbus, ohio. we ll continue to watch to see if he comes out any sooner. we know surrogates have been out on the campaign trail these past weekend. in iowa, new hampshire and south carolina. so we ll see if sanders makes an appearance before that debate. let me ask you really quickly, shaquille, the senator entered the hospital last tuesday. the campaign waited until friday to confirm that he actually had a heart attack. that s got to be unnerving for a lot of s ....
