Karnataka fake gold loan case: ED raids premises of Congress leader Manjunath Gowda
The Directorate of Enforcement (ED) has conducted raids on the premises of Congress leader RM Manjunath Gowda, who is also the chairman of Shivamogga District Cooperative Central (DCC) Bank in Karnataka. The raids are part of an investigation into an alleged fake gold scam in the bank. Gowda's residence and farmhouse are being searched, and the raids are still ongoing. This is not the first time Gowda has been involved in such a case, as he was previously arrested in 2014 for issuing loans against fake gold, causing a loss of Rs 62 crore to the bank.
