"The work that you all do in our community to support people, families, and industries most impacted by the pandemic is critical," said Burlington Mayor Miro Weinberger.
Since the pandemic, the Champlain Inn has served as a low-barrier emergency shelter in Burlington, managed by ANEW Place, and serving between 50 to 70 people a night.
The hotel is expected to bring in an additional $250,000 to $350,000 in revenue to the airport each year.
"This is our first year we've been back in full operation since covid, so we're really excited to have this going at this level," said Kinney.
"We can't expect educators to be able to teach themselves this important stuff."
