Software company Sigma Engineering and Momentive Performance Materials recently announced a strategic partnership to improve the reliability of process simulation with Sigmasoft Virtual Moulding. This collaboration is aimed at optimising material data specifically for silicone elastomers.

Maintaining a consistent temperature within a mould is critical for both robust manufacturing processes and high quality components. At the upcoming Fakuma, Sigma Engineering will be demonstrating the design of cooling systems using its Sigmasoft software. A case study with /H&B/ Electronic illustrates a cooling channel created using metal 3D printing technology.

At Fakuma in Friedrichshafen (17-21 October), Sigma Engineering will not only be giving a sneak peek at the upcoming Sigmasoft 6.1 version, due for release by the end of the year, but will also be showcasing its latest freeware tool, Sigma Interact.
