The Supreme Court on Tuesday has directed the government to answer the petition questioning the constitutionality of the SIM Registration Act.
Some lawmakers urged government agencies and telecommunications companies to use the 90-day extension of the SIM registration to reach out to unregistered users, especially those who do not have internet access.
By NTC Deputy Commissioner Jon Paulo Salvahan’s admission, there is nothing in the SIM Registration Act about the suspension of services by unregistered SIM users during the extension period.
