Dumpling Green estate plans quashed by Planning Inspectorate

Simon Bryan, Hopkins' group development director, said they were disappointed with the ruling.
He said: “We believe that this proposed development would bring forward a number of much needed homes in a sustainable location.
“The application was recommended for approval by the council’s planning officer and would also bring a range of benefits to the community including significant financial contributions towards education, improvements to highways, healthcare provision and library services.
“We stand by our belief that this is a suitable location and we are now taking the time to consider our position.”
Roger Atterwill, one of the councillors on Breckland's planning committee who voted against the scheme, called the decision “very good news” for Dereham.

A development of over 120 homes in between two Suffolk villages is set to be given the go-ahead next week, despite concerns from residents.
A new site of 129 traditionally built homes alongside seven self-builds has been proposed by developers Hopkins Homes for land between High Street and Chapel Lane in Pettistree.
Hopkins Homes says the project will create a "high-quality collection of homes" on a site already allocated for housing in the district-wide local plan.
Next week the plans will be considered by East Suffolk Council's planning committee where they have been recommended for approval.

An appeal by developers over the refusal of 49 homes in Sproughton has been dismissed by the Planning Inspectorate, after it was considered the harm to nearby historic buildings would not be outweighed by the public benefits.
Hopkins Homes has brought forward proposals to build homes off Loraine Way on three occasions - one for 64 homes a few years ago and revised plans for 54 properties rejected last year.
The
latest incarnation for 49 dwellings was refused by Babergh District Council's planning committee in October, with councillors consistently raising concerns over the impact it would have on nearby Grade II Listed buildings.
