Man took money to buy Cambodian citizenship for Chinese nationals
The Phnom Penh Municipal Court yesterday began the trial of the former general manager of Goldwell Co Ltd who is sued by the company chairman for breach of trust for a sum of $760,000 paid to secure Cambodian citizenships for three Chinese nationals in 2019. The accused, arrested on January 27, was identified as Sin Davuth, 44, who resides in Russei Keo district’s Kilometre Pram Muoy commune. The lawsuit was filed by Chan Kam Fung Jones, 45, also known as Duong Chan, who lives in Chamkar Mon district. He became a Cambodian citizen after marrying a Cambodian woman. The court’s deputy...
