KARACHI   –  Sindh Information Secretary Rafiq Ahmed Buriro said on Tuesday that every step was being taken to improve laws related to welfare of media, particularly journalists, with a view to provide conducive atmosphere for their sustained growth.  
This he said while holding a meeting of senior journalists to discuss draft of Journalists Protection Bill (JPB) at his office. Karachi Press Club (KPC) President Fazil Jameeli, senior journalists Mazhar Abbas, Dr Jabbar Khattak, GM Jamali, Owais Aslam Ali, Qazi Asif, Director Information Muhammad Saleem Khan and Section Officer Majid Hameed Shaikh were present on the occasion.      
The information secretary said that journalists play a pivotal role not only in highlighting grievances of masses but also keeping an eye on the steps of the government.
