Government to add farmers' union to MSP panel, will offer aid for deaths
The farmers unions Thursday said they will end their year-long protest on Saturday December 11, 2021 with Fateh March – Victory Procession, at Singhu and Tikri borders near the national capital New Delhi.
As farmer unions announced suspension of their agitation, local residents and traders at the Singhu border protest site expressed mixed emotions, with small traders fearing loss of customers and others hoping for a smoother road connectivity. Thousands of farmers, prominently from Punjab, Haryana and Uttar Pradesh, had been protesting at the borders of the national capital
Bharatiya Janata Party Kisan Morcha president and MP Rajkumar Chahar on Thursday said that the Central government is considering the demands of the farmers seriously and hoped that the farmers' protest will come to an end today.
The announcement came after Central government assured them of forming a committee on MSP and withdrawing cases against them immediately
