OVER 4,100 workers in Central Visayas have received over P228 million in long overdue settlement and last pay from their employers from January to November 2023.

The Department of Labor and Employment in Central Visayas has released data that 57 aggrieved workers have been granted a total of P6 million in compensation. This sum was awarded to workers in the two provinces of Negros Oriental and Siquijor who filed complaints against their employers through the regional labor agency’s Single Entry Approach (Sena) program. The program resolves labor-related issues and complaints with the primary goal of preventing these disputes from escalating into full-fledged legal conflicts.
